Who will be treating me?
St. Vincent's Rehabilitation Services is proud of its highly qualified physical and occupational therapists and assistants. Our therapists and assistants are licensed by the State of Alabama. They update their therapeutic techniques through continuing education as changes occur in the field of physical and occupational therapy.

What are the hours of operation?
For your convenience, we offer two locations. Our Main Campus location is open Monday-Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and offers Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Aquatic Therapy, and Medical fitness.

Lakewood Industrial Rehab is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and offers traditional Physical Therapy and acute injury management.

What should I wear?
Remember to dress comfortably. Wear loose fitting clothes and rubber sole shoes. Shorts are recommended for treatment of the knee or ankle.

What will I need to bring to my first appointment and how long will it last?
For your first visit, please arrive at least 15-30 minutes before your scheduled time. This allows time to fill out paperwork. If you have already completed the paperwork for our office, you do not need to arrive early. Your first visit should last approximately 45 minutes to one hour.

Be sure to bring your current medical insurance card, driver's license, and the referral for therapy from your physician if it was given to you.

Prior to your initial evaluation by the therapist, you will be asked to fill out a health questionnaire regarding your present condition and a consent form.

If you are currently performing a prescribed exercise program, please bring a copy of the program for your therapist to review.

Follow-up Visits: After your initial evaluation, your visits will last approximately 45 minutes to one hour.

If I arrive late, will I be seen?
Being punctual is important because our therapist work by appointment to provide one-on-one therapy. Being late may cause your therapist to interrupt another patient's treatment or to have valuable time wasted. Therefore, we will do our best to accommodate your schedule and treatment needs but cannot guarantee that you will be seen by your regular therapy team when you arrive late. Please call us at (205) 930-2742 to notify us when you know you will be late.

How do I cancel or reschedule an appointment?
Consistent attendance at scheduled appointments is very important to achieve progress with the treatment plan started with your therapist. We ask that you give us a 24-hour notice if you cannot make your scheduled appointment. Note: We are required to contact your physician's office and, if a work related injury, the worker's compensation carrier when scheduled appointments are missed. To cancel or reschedule an appointment, call (205) 930-2742.

How do I prepare for a Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE)?
Please remember that this evaluation will take between 3 and 6 hours to complete. Wear comfortable clothes (example: loose, workout clothes_ and non-slip shoes (preferably athletic shoes). Take any regularly used medications as usual. Eat a well-balanced breakfast/lunch depending on the time that your FCE is scheduled.

Where do I park?
Free parking is provided for your convenience. You may use the lot in front of the Bruno Rehab entrance or park in the Building 3 deck if the lot is full. Please remember to bring your parking ticket to the Fitness desk for validation anytime that you use the Building 3 lot for your Rehab appointment.
